I don't read many blogs. I simply don't invest the time. It's hard enough for me to find time for my daily Bible reading and the stack of books I usually have going at once, much less the time necessary to read the countless blog options available to me. But, I do make time for a few. Last night I cleaned out my RSS reader and started fresh. What follows are the seven blogs I'm currently reading each day.
Pastor Mark (@pastormark) is the founding pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, WA. He's also the co-founder of the Acts 29 Network, leads The Resurgence, and has authored a number of books, including his most recent, "Real Marriage", which he co-authored with his wife, Grace. He blogs about a wide range of topics including theology, pastoral ministry, leadership, marriage, and family.
Michael (@michaelhyatt) is the chairman of Thomas Nelson Publishers, the largest Christian publishing company in the world and the seventh largest trade book publishing company in the U.S. He has authored four books and is currently working on his fifth project entitled, "Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World" (May 2012) . The content of his blog focuses on leadership, social media, productivity, and platform development.
Pastor James (@jamesmacdonald) is the founding pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel and has planted over 70 churches with the Harvest Bible Fellowship. He has authored a number of books and blogs from his 20+ years of ministry experience on the topics of preaching, church planting, ministry leadership and theology.
4. Joe Thorn
Pastor Joe (@joethorn) is the smartest guy I know. He's the lead pastor of Redeemer Fellowship in St. Charles, IL and a part of the Acts 29 Network. In addition to being a dear friend, Joe is a great theologian. Joe makes theology accessible and his passion for theological clarity stirs my affection for Christ and my love of God's Word. Joe is the author of "Note to Self: The Discipline of Preaching to Yourself" and blogs about theology, culture, and ministry.
5. John Piper
Pastor John (@johnpiper) is the lead pastor for preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN. He has authored more than 30 books and has made more than 25 years of his preaching and teaching available for free at desiringgod.com. He blogs in such a way that makes me want to know Jesus more.
Pastor Steven (@stevenfurtick) is the lead pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Elevation is one of the fastest growing churches in America, growing to over 9,000 people in the first 5 years. In 2011 Elevation produced a full length documentary entitled, "This Is How We Change the World" telling their story. Steven is the author of "Sun Stand Still" and blogs on leadership, vision, ministry, and faith.
The Resurgence (@theresurgence) is all about helping leaders on the mission God has called them to. Comprised of writing and teaching from a wide variety of pastors and leaders, The Resurgence has become the number one most visited Christian site online. To learn more about their mission visit them here.
