The human heart and mind are often so fragile.
Pastors are no exception.

Pastors are NOT super-Christians, not super-human and not better follower’s of Jesus.

Pastors are normal, imperfect, struggling, insecure, hurting and broken humans. We serve the church in a specific way, but we aren’t a special type of human.
Pastor friends, we can’t pretend otherwise. Church-members, please stop expecting otherwise.

The combination of that pretending and unrealistic expectations results in isolation and hiding.
This type of suffering thrives in secrecy. Drag it into the light and let’s walk in honesty and grace.

Heart-broken for the wife and young sons of @jarridwilson.

One of the the highest honors God allows pastors is to be present with people on their darkest, most difficult and even last days. *

Today I visited a husband wife named, Heather and Tony. Tony was airlifted to SLC from Montana 7 weeks ago due to complications from a heart attack. He has had further complications that have resulted in the amputation of both legs. Heather was informed yesterday that his prognosis is bad and is slowly dying. *

I didn’t know what to say (I rarely feel like I know what to say in these situations). So we prayed. *

I was wondering if you would take even one minute and pray for Tony’s healing and Heather’s strength?
